The North East Ohio Bengali Association was established by a group of families who envisioned an organization dedicated to celebrating festivals in an inclusive and welcoming environment, where individuals could contribute freely and enjoy the festivities without the influence of politics.

At NEOBA we wanted to have a constitution which provides us with an organization and operating model to succeed. We had debated, presented ideas and tested them between us. We wanted to have some guardrails when the organization is new and also provide some foundation for the more matured NEOBA of the future. It took us 7 days and nights to write the 36 page comprehensive constitution. The constitution was reviewed by multiple members of the upcoming group who were experienced in running similar organizations and finally the promoters adopted the constitution on Dec 27th which was subsequently adopted by the Board in its first meeting.

The first Board meeting took place to decide on the important decisions such as appointment of Chairman of the Board, President, Treasurer and Secretary; approving the Seal; resolution for bank accounts and adoption of the bylaws. Minutes of meeting are available with the Secretary.
