| June 28, 2025 HUDSON, OHIO – NEOBA’s Banabhojan 2025 drew over 200 attendees this year at Barlow Farm Park, marking another successful community event for the organization. The day was filled with festivities, culinary delights, and spirited competitions that brought together families and friends from across the region. The highlight of the event was the preparation of 100 lbs of traditional “Biyebari style mutton”, a daunting task undertaken with new and untested kitchen equipment. Despite initial challenges, the newly assembled culinary team rose to the occasion, delivering a feast that has become the talk of the town. “We faced a setback when our masterchef Ananya, our kitchen powerhouse, couldn’t join us due to a personal tragedy,” shared Shaubhik Goswami, President of NEOBA. “Just two days before the event, we had to rally a completely new team. They exceeded expectations, ensuring the mutton was prepared to perfection. Thanks to the leadership of Suprakash Nandan, Abhishek Bagchi, Prakash Parida. This event demonstrated the spirit of NEOBA, there has been hardly been anyone who didn’t volunteered for anything which made this event a great success !” Beyond the gastronomic delights, the picnic featured spirited sports competitions for both children and adults. The Jilapi race emerged as a crowd favorite, with participants eagerly competing to devour the sweet treat, often leading to playful antics and laughter-filled moments. “It was a wonderful day spent outdoors, celebrating our community spirit,” remarked Goswami. “Despite the challenges, NEOBA’s commitment to fostering togetherness shone through, reaffirming our bond as a community.” The success of Banabhojan underscores NEOBA’s dedication to organizing inclusive and memorable events that highlight Bengali culture and community values. As the day concluded, attendees departed with cherished memories and anticipation for future gatherings under NEOBA’s banner. |
